Food and words.

Lately we've been seeing more and more cafes pop up in the suburbs rather than the city. They're not just a place to grab a quick cup of coffee, but somewhere to leisurely sit for a while over breakfast, brunch, or perhaps even an indulgent sweet. So which one of these suburban spots is the best around? We want your opinions on Adelaide's best suburban cafe.

One of the newest recruits is a strong contender, the Loose Caboose Cafe in Bowden. It's only a quick train or tram ride out of the city, and it's set inside the Bowden Railway Station. You can pull up a brightly coloured chair and enjoy a fresh juice, a coffee from their fancy machine, or a tea from Scullery Made up in the Barossa. There's an epic all day breakfast menu that will have your mouth watering, as well as plenty of other treats.

Down Unley Road A Mother's Milk has been the talk of the town for a while now. Whether you're popping in for breakfast, lunch, or just a coffee, there will be something here to tempt you. Also on Unley Road is the interesting concept of Dunks & Unley. It's one part cafe, and one part furniture store, you can take a seat on one of the vintage couches, and perhaps even buy it once you're done.

Not too far away the Pantry on Egmont is a sweet little spot, it's tucked away and has that real suburban feel. They're another place that does some great fresh juices along with their meals. Check out their sister store on Goodwood Road as well, Ginger's Coffee Studio. It's got a similar feel as the Pantry but with it's very own tasty menu. Both cafes have fun retro furnishings, and friendly staff. They're great for friends or families.

Believe us, there are plenty more. A few more suburban favourites include Agatha's in Port Noarlunga, Deep Blue Cafe in Moana, and the Coffee Barun in Sefton Park. The Mary Martin Bookstore Cafe in Norwood is also a gorgeous spot, it's set inside an old church. Inner or outer suburbs we want to know about them all. So spill the secrets on your favourite suburban cafe, and join the discussion in the comments.

I went to go to Mary Martin's last week and found that it had closed down. Not sure how long ago this happened.

One of my favourite places to go is Charmers on Semaphore Rd. Any kind of tea you can imagine and the coffee is pretty good too. My daughter treated me to High Tea there on Mothers Day. Delightful!!! The personal service is great and the café itself is full of old world charm. Try it, you will be pleasantly surprised.

Sarah's Sisters on Semaphore Road is fantastic. Whether you're after coffee and cake or a delicious vegetarian meal I guarantee you will keep going back. The cafe overlooks the gardens of an ajoining nursery and it's fun to watch the cute chooks scrummaging in the gardens while you sip on your wine.

The Teal Turtle at Port Noarlunga is relatively new. The staffs manner and presentation is very professional. Their coffee is fantastic, and the cabinet display of cakes and savoury are all exceptionally tempting. They have a selection of magazines for those who have the time to relax, and they cater for families with a kiddie corner. You can enjoy all of this with a view of the ocean.

I love the Organic Market Cafe in Stirling but then so do another million hills people so its impossible to get a seat for Saturday or Sunday breakfast! Its a little bit grungy looking with old wooden school chairs, but has a great atmosphere and their salads and soups are really wholesome.
