Great steaks can be found all over Adelaide, from some of the best pubs, to classy restaurants. While we love sinking our teeth into a tasty bit of meat, there is nothing worse than a poorly cooked steak. So we've decided to try and find the best of the best when it comes to Adelaide's steak scene. We know a few stand out options, but really, its up to you. We want to know your favourites, and your top recommendations, for finding the best steak Adelaide has to offer.
We'll start off with a place that claim to have been voted 'Adelaide's Worst Vegetarian Restaurant', The Stag. These guys are a little bit obsessed with their meat, so much so that a quick walk past will have you noticing signs declaring their love for the carnivore way of life. They have a range of cuts, from some of SA's best cattle areas, and there is definitely plenty to choose from. Whether you're looking for a mammoth meal, or just want a nice steak, there is something for you here. The Stag can be found at 299 Rundle Street, Adelaide.
Next we're heading round to Adelaide's centre of food and dining, the Adelaide Central Markets. While it isn't technically in the markets, or on restaurant heaven, Gouger Street, The Brasserie certainly epitomises some of the best things about this area. It is the top dining option at the Hilton, making a name for itself now that the well-known Grange is no longer in business. Try their Coorong Black Angus T-Bone with mash potato, field mushrooms, and café de Paris butter. They have a real dedication to sourcing local produce of the highest quality, and when you take a bite it definitely shows. You'll find The Brasserie at the Hilton Adelaide, Victoria Square.
Finally the modern Australian cuisine at the Red Ochre makes it onto our list. Their steaks are sourced from all over SA's South East, covering the Coorong, Naracoorte, the Coonawarra, and the Limestone Coast. Whichever you pick you'll have it served with onion puree and brocolini, with bush tomato chimmichurri, wattle seeded mustard, pepper berry jam, and confit garlic. Not only do they serve top quality steaks, but the accompaniments make sure this is a truly tasty meal. You'll find the Red Ochre on War Memorial Drive, North Adelaide.
We've focussed on some of the options in the city circuit, but we want to know what can be found all over Adelaide. If you've discovered a perfect steak down the Fleurieu Peninsular, or if you know a suburban pub that always gets it right, make sure you let us all about it. We're after Adelaide's best steaks, wherever they're served, and we need your help to find them.
