If you didn't like them runny, you'd probably order a hard boiled egg. Regardless of this far too many poached eggs are served without a gooey centre in sight. So in an attempt to put and end to spoiled breakfasts everywhere, we're trying to find Adelaide's best poached eggs. Let us know if you've had a great one, or if you've had to sit through a disaster. We know everyone has a bad day now and again, but the best egg poachers get it right every time.
Poached eggs are on the menu at
Brown Dog Cafe , like their Eggs Florentine, a poached egg sitting on top of crusty bread and spinach, and topped with hollandaise sauce with a side of salmon. When these eggs are cooked to the perfection the runny yolk blends perfectly with the hollandaise sauce, covering the breakfast with eggy goodness. Do Brown Dog always get it right? Or have you had a less than perfect poached egg experience. Brown Dog Cafe can be found at
143 Goodwood Road, Goodwood.
The Treasury , tucked away on King William Street, also does poached eggs for breakfast. They come served with roast mushroom, truffle pecorino and served on toast. They're beautifully poached, and what makes it better is that you'll enjoy the in a lovely environment. The Treasury is located at
144 King William Street, Adelaide.
We've had other good poached eggs all over Adelaide, like at
Zest Cafe in Glenelg, or the
Queen St Cafe in Croydon. Try the Zesty Eggs at Zest, poached eggs on toast with a seeded mustard and orange zest creme, topped with smoked salmon. Or at Queen St Cafe why not try the poached eggs with chorizo, tomato compote, and rocket on rye bread. Sometimes it is these extra additions that help make a well cooked poached egg really shine. Zest Cafe can be found at
2a Sussex Street, Glenelg, and Queen St Cafe is at
12 Elizabeth Street, Croydon.
So let us know if any of these places serve up your favourite poached eggs. Instead maybe you've got a great breakfast joint down
Hutt Street that always serves them well. Or do you go to the
East Terrace Continental for your fix? We want to know who serves up poached eggs cooked to perfection, and just where we can find them.
