Food and words.

New markets are popping up all over Adelaide, right in the middle of the city or in the outer suburbs, and each one has its own style and charm. We've decided that we may as well try and find Adelaide's best market, but we need your help, so let us know which one you like the most.

Our writers have already shared some of the markets they love. From the Moana Market down south, providing the market by the beach, to the newly established Norwood Community Markets, taking the place of the previously iconic Orange Lane Markets. Then there are the Farmers Markets in the Adelaide Hills, Victor Harbour, and at the Adelaide Showgrounds, and the Pooraka Sunday Flea & Produce Market.

Of course you can't mention Adelaide and Markets without mentioning the Adelaide Central Markets. Filled with fruits and vegetables, cheeses, breads, lollies, chocolates, and so much more. If you're trying to re-create an exotic dish from somewhere around the world this is the place to try, there are also well stocked Asian Grocers with plenty of hard to find products. One of the great things about the Adelaide Central Markets is the amount of cafes where you can grab a tasty bite to eat or a fresh, delicious smoothie. When it comes to things other than food, the market mainly sits on the tacky side of things, but it is hard to find a better stocked place to do your food shopping.

Close by you'll find the Gilles Street Market. This is the place to go for vintage clothes, and up and coming Adelaide designers. You can always find some great outfits and accessories among these stalls. This isn't all, you'll also find tasty food available, and drinks from Syrup Cordial Bar. You can find a selection of arts and crafts, and while you shop the kids can enjoy the playground at the Gilles Street Primary School.

If you're looking for something for the kids it is hard to pass up the Lollipop Markets. They're currently found in the Westpac Centre at AAMI Stadium. All of the stalls are selected to ensure that this market has the best of children's clothing, toys, and fun products for children, mums, and dads. The stall holders are chosen by work-at-home mums, so they know what is the best of the best. Each store holder puts a lot of work into putting together a really gorgeous stall, and you can't help but be a little bit amazed when you step inside.

This is just a selection, we know there are plenty of others from one side of town to the other. Let us know which market you like the most, and why you think it is so great. You might always be on the hunt for fresh produce and tasty food, or you might like coming across treasures that have been hiding away in someone else's attic. Give us your opinion and help us find Adelaide's best market.

I live just around the corner from Willunga, and I've still never been to the Willunga Markets. Will have to make sure I get there some time soon.
