Lemonade has a special place in many people's hearts. We're not talking about the stuff you buy from the supermarket, but stuff made form real lemons sold on the side of the road on hot days, or made in big batches by your grandma. It comes in many forms, but it is always a thirst quencher, and makes the perfect addition to summer. So we've decided to try and find Adelaide's best lemonade, and we want your help.
A super refreshing option can be found at the American Candy Stand, one of Adelaide's most adorable cafes. Their lemonade offering is light and refreshing, the only improvement would be if you could sip this one poolside. It is a bit different from your traditional lemonades, with a blend of lemon, grapefruit, strawberry, and mint, there is a great mix of flavour. This one is a fizzy one, and comes with a pink straw and a fresh slice of lemon.
If you're not a fan of fizzy drinks, then maybe you'd prefer a drink that can be a bit harder to track down. Syrup Cordial Bar are a local Adelaide company, who can often be found at the Gillie's Street Markets, but also at other events around town. They have a range of delicious cordials, and of course on the list you'll find a refreshing lemonade. They come up with new flavours all the time, so who knows if they'll be creating a new lemonade blend that is just to die for. You can follow them on Facebook or Twitter to see where they'll be next.
Or for the late night lemonade, why not head to Fumo Blu. They are one of Adelaide's most popular cocktail bars, and their signature cocktail makes the lemonade stand a bit more fun. They describe the Blu Smoke as 'old fashioned lemonade, drizzled blu'. If you prefer your lemonade a bit more wild, this could be your favourite drink to down. This isn't the type of lemonade you're likely to find on a roadside lemonade stand.
Let us know if there are any other great lemonades that you've discovered around town. Whether it can be found at your local market, freshly squeezed before your eyes, or if it sits on the menu of a delightful little cafe. We're going lemonade crazy, and we want to find the best that Adelaide has to offer.
