The sharp crack when you break a piece of quality chocolate in half. The richness that melts on your tongue when you bite into a chocolate tart. The warmth that spreads through you after a sip of a smooth hot chocolate. These are just a few reasons why we can't get enough of Chocolate Cafes. Whether it's for an indulgent morning tea, or a decadent late night treat, chocolate cafes are a tantalising way to enjoy one of our favourite sweets. So if you're a bit of a chocoholic let us know which chocolate cafe or chocolatier is your favourite, and if you're not too sure we might be able to give you a few ideas below.

Head down Unley Road and you'll discover Steven Ter Horst's chocolate delights, a feast for your eyes as well as your mouth. The perfect dome shaped desserts reveal layers of chocolate surprises, while the salted caramel and chocolate tart is something you won't be forgetting soon. During the day the cafe is a light and airy space, with plenty of natural light streaming through, but at night you'll find there's a far more intimate feel.

A favourite for many Adelaidians can be found on Union Street, in the East End. Chocolate Bean is a sweet two story cafe that has a range of cakes and other chocolate delights, as well as an impressive list of hot chocolates. You choose your hot chocolate base, and then you can add in a range of delicious flavours. Try a classic like the chilli hot chocolate, or go for something a bit different like a rose white hot chocolate. There are also a selection of vegan goodies here.

The newer Chocolate Taperia also has plenty of cocoa delights. Their churros is delicious dipped in a pot of melted chocolate, and then there are also the cakes, desserts, and truffles all waiting to be sampled. Their hot chocolate is smooth and creamy, and warms you inside out. Head to their Facebook page and you'll be able to see their daily devotions to everything and anything chocolate related.

This is just a sampling of Adelaide's dedicated chocolate cafes. There's Chocolate No. 5 in Hahndorf, which remains undiscovered by many, but is a firm favourite to anyone who has eaten there. Or Cocolat on Rundle Street, who have a display case full of very tempting chocolate cakes.

You don't have to pick from our lists, we want to hear all about your favourites and why you love them so much. So think about your best chocolate experience and help us find Adelaide's best chocolate cafe.
