It is pretty clear that in Adelaide we love lollies. From chocolates to sweets, Adelaide is the home to some great businesses like Haigh's Chocolates, Melba's, and Menz. So we've decided it is only natural that we start looking for the best sweet shop in Adelaide. We've got a few ideas of where you can find some good ones, but we want your help in naming Adelaide's best candy store.

The Melba's Factory in the Adelaide Hills is a great place to start. Melba's are probably most famous for their chocolates, including their very tasty chocolate freckles. Other age old sweets can be found here like traffic lights, spuds, and so much more. You can even watch this old factory operate, and see all the tasty treats as they're made. Haigh's Chocolates and Menz also operate factory tours, so you can find out just how these sweet delicacies come to life.

If you're looking for an old-style sweet store then Blackeby's in James Place is probably one of the best around. You can tell before you walk in that this is a place of wonder, as the brightly coloured facade depicts a candy filled world of joy. Inside will feel like you've entered the gift shop of Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory, and you'll find anything from traditional lollies, to American sweets that aren't found in regular stores. Old-style lolly shops are growing in popularity around Adelaide, and some other great ones include Humbugs in Hahndorf, and the Original Lolly Shop in Strathalbyn.

A new face on the Adelaide lolly scene is the Sweet Dr. and you can find one of their delicious stores in the Myer Centre Food Court, in Rundle Mall. The Sweet Dr. is a pick 'n' mix, where you grab a bag and fill it with whichever lollies you desire, when you're done weigh them up and pay the price. There are lots of delicious gummies, sour lollies, and plenty more to enjoy. If you're a fan of the pick 'n' mix style, Adelaide's Finest Supermarkets also have a great pick 'n' mix sweet section.

So which of these sweet shops reigns supreme? Let us know your favourite places for satisfying those sweet-tooth cravings so that we can find Adelaide's best candy store.
