It's not quite breakfast, and it's not quite lunch, of course we're talking about brunch, one of the best reasons to eat out on a weekend. We're looking for Adelaide's best brunch spot, we know McDonald's definitely isn't the place because they're famous for stopping their breakfasts at 10:30am. Plenty of Adelaide cafes have all day breakfast menus, and with meals like this there's no way you should ever be thinking about a McMuffin.

Duthy Street Deli are on our list. While they do have their own lunch menu, and it's a delicious one at that, sometimes on a lazy day you need a late morning brunch to get things started. Have your eggs scrambled, poached, or fried, and complimented with anything from Danish feta, cherry tomatoes, basil, and rocket, to truffle oil, chorizo, and slow roasted mushrooms. Of course they also do delicious pancakes, banana bread, and even raisin toast. If you plan on sitting outside you can even bring your dog along.

You also can't go wrong with Zest Cafe Gallery down at Glenelg. If the reason you're enjoying brunch and not breakfast is due to a late wake-up and a nasty hangover, then dishes like Hell's Eggs and the Hottie could give you that kick you need. They may not have Hair of the Dog on their menu like Brown Dog Cafe, but these spicy meals will get you started the right way. The cafe has a great vibe, and friendly service, it's sure to become a favourite if it isn't already.

If you're along the parade you might want to try Uncle Albert's Cafe, where they serve breakfast until 4:30pm. Eat indoors or outdoors, and when you're done you'll be able to stroll down the Parade and do a bit of shopping. For something interesting why not try the breakfast burger, or the fresh toast with grilled pear and maple syrup. Savoury, or sweet, there are some good brunch options here.

So where is your favourite place in Adelaide for a spot of brunch? Do you stick to the streets of the CBD, or find that suburban cafes know how to do brunch right. Perhaps all you need is a late morning brunch and the smell of the sea air, so do you know a seaside spot that is top of its game? Let us know in the discussion which brunch spot is the best.

Definitely Newmans Nursery at Tea Tree Gully - an unexpected addition to a brunch list but the Topiary Cafe has the most delicious food with the presentation of a top restaurant. A must try for any brunch lover!
