If you love markets and photography including photographic history, then this is the premier event for the year. The Photographic Preservation Society (SA) Inc, once again presents the Adelaide Photographic Market. This annual market will be held on Sunday 7 May 2017 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Hungarian Club, 82 Osmond Terrace, Norwood.

The hall will be filled with stalls showcasing everything photographic that is new or collectible, including 35mm and large format still cameras, lenses, slide and 8mm, 16 mm and super-8 films, film projectors and movie equipment, darkroom equipment, enlargers, super-8 home movies, books, bags and much, much more. Many of the items available are still in operating order. The market ranges from trash and treasure stall holders to experienced professionals selling second hand stock. If you are having trouble finding specialist equipment for that aging camera, there is a good chance you will find it here or the experts on hand will be able to provide suggestions on where to get it.

You can come and view, trade or even discuss photography with leading experts. There will be interesting displays on photographic history in every form imaginable. If you thought film photography was dead, think again because it is alive and well. If you have found a passion for photography with your current DSLR, take the challenge and get yourself a great film camera and enjoy the challenges of photography before the camera did it all for you. You may be surprised by the results.

Previous markets have been a huge success and my attendance at last year's market with my husband, who is a photographer, highlighted just how alive and well this industry is and that there are still a great number of enthusiasts around. This market is a treasure trove for all those with a love for photography. Bring the kids along and set them on a lifetime hobby.
