It is astonishing that the 30 days of Ramadan are already nearing the end of its journey and what a beautiful time of reflection, gratitude, and hope that it has brought along the way. While it has felt a bit different compared to the pre-COVID years, one thing is certain - people around us (Muslims and non-Muslims alike) have embraced this time and appreciated getting to know more about this colourful culture and religion in their own curious ways!
To celebrate that ray of a cultural mosaic and acceptance at the end of Ramadan, the
will be returning for their jam-packed weekend of family fun at the Wayville Showgrounds next weekend. Considered to be the largest and most prestigious Multicultural Eid Festival in South Australia, this event invites individuals and families to experience a sense of cultural diversity in Adelaide, complemented with plenty of food and fun for all to enjoy.
With the promise of bringing together a range of cultures and communities in harmonious form, this self-funded, not for profit community event hopes to draw people with different cultural and ethnic backgrounds to come along and enjoy the celebration within our close-knit community. It is also a time for non-Muslim Australians to share and engage in Muslim culture and food, which will be catered by over 15 food vendors (and delicacies from a multitude of nations).
To add extra appeal towards families with kids, there will be rides, various games and cultural activities happening around the showground to engage and entertain everyone throughout the weekend. Expect to also see the likes of a jumping castle and an animal farm that everyone is free to explore as they wish.
This is an opportunity to bring your family along to this unique festival to celebrate and have fun whilst also learning something new about the range of countries and cultures that celebrate Eid al Fitr. With Ramadan coming to an end, we are more than excited to share and celebrate our tradition with all communities in Adelaide during this special time. (Alaa Sebahi, Event Manager)
The will run on the weekend of May 22 and 23, 2021 at the Wayville Showgrounds from 12 pm - 8 pm. Tickets range from $5 - $35 and can be purchased here .
