Grab the cheapest round the world ticket you can find, and travel the world without even having to leave Adelaide. With so many amazing cultures and experiences available in this city, you can go globetrotting on a much smaller budget. So take our tips, but don't bother packing your bag, because we're on a round the world trip to Asia, the UK, France, and Africa.

Have a Culinary Experience in Asia

To get the best Asian experience that Adelaide has to offer then you can't go past Chinatown and the central markets. With some of the best Asian eateries on offer in Adelaide you can grab anything from pho, to sushi, to dumplings. While you're there explore the Adelaide Central Markets, it isn't exactly an authentic Asian market you will still get to experience some of the fragrant smells, and pick up some of the more unusual fruits and vegetables. You can also visit the Asian grocery stores that are around where you can get hard to find ingredients for any Asian dishes you plan on cooking at home. For the last stop make sure you visit Morning Glory and get your picture taken in one of their cute photobooths, and grab some cutesy stationery to take home.

Soak Up Some Culture in England

Jetting off to England will only take you a short 15 minute walk, as you wander through the halls of the South Australian Museum and the Adelaide Art Gallery. You'll be able to soak up all the culture that is so important to those visiting the UK. Pretend you're sauntering through the British Museum or the Tate Modern, while the collections might not be as big, you can still get that British experience. When you're done stroll through the Botanic Gardens, the lush greenery is a far cry from the usual burnt colours of Australian natives. You'll forget you're in the middle of Adelaide; it is just like being in England, just with better weather.

Wine and Dine in France

Start your nice sipping cocktails in the swanky La Boheme, you'll feel like you've wandered into a delightful French hole in the wall. Chat away in French accents for the fun of it, or if you know a little bit pull out some French to make it a bit more authentic. Then take a small trip to the Boho Bar where you'll be able to take a taste of the Bohemian lifestyle. The Boho Bar space is not only a brilliant space to get cocktails, but you'll slip into Adelaide's closest thing to the bright lights and exciting nature of the Monmartre district. Embrace the burlesque, the cabaret, and the exciting side of France. Wear a fancy outfit, something a little bit out of your comfort zone that they'd love so much on the streets of Paris. To soak up all the cocktails you'll be drinking make sure you pop into The Corner Bistrot for some escargot and delicious French food.

Safari through Africa

It isn't enough to visit Adelaide Zoo and catch a glimpse of the Lions to experience Adelaide's African side. Head on a safari before visiting an African night market and dining on some traditional Ethiopian Food. While the Adelaide Zoo won't give you the safari experience, you can get close to this visiting Monarto Zoo. Here the animals roam far freer than they do in cages, pretend you're spying out animals at Kruger National Park in South Africa. During daylight savings you can head to Prospect to the African Twilight Markets. On offer are African arts and crafts, jewellery, food and rinks, clothing and material, instruments, and hair products. You can buy some great products, or just come to see the great African dancers perform. If you're looking for some African food all year round then try the delicious Ethiopian food at the Abyssinian. Share your food with friends and engage with the Ethiopian culture. You won't be able to experience every part of the varied African cultures, but you'll at least get a taste.

There is no way that you could see and experience all that these countries and continents have to offer just by wandering the streets of Adelaide, but you'll still be able to have some amazing times at home. If you're not likely to be jetting off overseas anytime soon, then make sure that you're spending your time in Adelaide immersing yourself in the amazing multicultural communities that have made Adelaide their home. While you're at it grab yourself a meat pie with sauce, or a pie floater, and head to an AFL showdown with the Crows and Port Power to also experience some great Australian culture.
