Sunday the 15th of May 2022 is your chance to head behind bars at the Adelaide Gaol . Its nooks and crannies are filled with dramatic stories of escapes and haunting tales of executions.



You can walk through the never-before-seen Story Cells and explore the newly exhibited Original Cell Block Display. The Contemplation Cell features Mary MacKillop and how she brought light into the prison. You'll gain an insight into how the prisoners coped with prison life.



The popular Gaol Road Markets will also be there with bespoke, handmade and local designer stalls. Feel free to just have a browse or engage further with the stallholders. Food and coffee are available for purchase too.



The gaol is located just off Port Road at 18 Gaol Road, Adelaide. Their usual entry fees have been discounted to $5.50 per person for the day. There is no cost for infants under the age of four. Bookings can be made online via their website .
