Two Colour Collision
It's on again - the opening night parade! This year will be bigger and better than any opening night parade held before. And, once again, the entire event is FREE!

It's expected that over 30,000 people will come into the city on Friday the 14th February to watch the parade and celebrate the opening of the 2014 Adelaide Fringe Festival.

This year's theme is "Two Colour Collision" and with the parade participants looking to win prizes for the best costume and best float, I think we're going to be blinded by a kaleidoscope of colour.

The Parade will start on North Terrace, move along King William Street and end in our newly revamped Victoria Square.

The area between North Terrace and Rundle Mall has been allocated a special "family zone" for, well, families!

Bring a blanket, a low-backed chair, drinks and snacks and settle in for a super spectacle of sound and colour.

Check the Fringe road map for all the details on disability access, location of toilets and pedestrian cross-over points.

Pre-parade entertainment starts at 7pm and the parade will start at 8.30pm. At 9.40 there'll be fireworks and dancing in the streets - what a way to herald the beginning of the 2014 Adelaide Fringe Festival!

The Christmas Pageant blue line will be used for all the spectators and is the guide for seating and viewing. My tip: get there early!

Last year's live broadcast to Radio Adelaide (101.5) was a great success and there will be a live Audio Description again this year on Radio Adelaide and Access2Arts. Tune into 101.5fm or listen via your smart phone on to hear all the parade on your radio.

For blind and vision impaired visitors who wish to listen to the live broadcast, Access2Arts will have a limited number of radios and headsets available for hire. Bookings are essential - contact them on or 8463 1689 for more information.
