In a break from the traditional street parade of years past, this year sees an exciting change. There will be no parade through the city, instead; the night will be full of free events for the whole family and there'll be room for everyone to roam around and to enjoy.
Tindo Utpurndee (Sunset Ceremony - free event) At 8 pm on the front lawns of the South Australian Museum. Everyone is invited to attend the official opening of the 2018 Adelaide Fringe Festival - the Tindo Utpurndee Sunset Ceremony. This event is full of ancient stories, told with a combination of modern and traditional dance by Yellaka in recognition and respect of our traditional landowners.
Switching-On Ceremony - free event 8.30 pm. Immediately following the Sunset Ceremony will be the official switching on of the Parade of Light. The Parade of Light is a collection of architectural light projections on our historic North Terrace buildings.
