Get in early with booking tickets for some of Adelaide's biggest events in 2014 and you can score discounted ticket prices plus two free tickets.
The Adelaide Festival Centre is already advertising its
2014 program of events.
If we book tickets to four or more shows at the same time, we can get subscriber discounts for any shows at the Festival Centre. That's an incentive to get our arts diaries for 2014 sorted in advance.

Rocky Horror Show: It's 40 and it's back in March 2014
There is an even greater incentive for early birds. If we subscribe online before Sunday 5 January, in other words, buy tickets for four separate shows, we'll get a free ticket to a Mystery Show per subscriber.
What's fantastic with the Mystery Show offer is that you'll still get a choice over what you see. We'll be sent a list of choices after the offer closing date. Obviously the seats that are offered will be for less popular shows, however that is a great chance to try something you wouldn't normally go to. Note that you won't be able to change the date of the Mystery tickets, or get a refund if you can't go, but that's fair enough.

Based on this photo, Id be happy with a Mystery Ticket to Adelaide's The Correspondents
As 'real' Adelaide people will know, the Festival Centre hosts music, theatre, dance and exhibitions year round. It's particularly busy at festival times, like the Adelaide Festival in March and the Cabaret Festival in June. As an expat from Melbourne, I'm used to having to buy a theatre subscription, dance subscription and orchestra subscription separately. When my budget was limited (always!), I've had to choose between the disciplines or pay full price for a ticket. It's fantastic to be able to pick and choose in putting a subscription together over here.

Summer holiday shows like South Pacific and The Illusionists, are included in the special offer
The problem is that there are too many choices!! I love musicals, so perhaps
South Pacific and
The Rocky Horror Show. There's the chance to see the legendary
Dame Kiri Te Kanawa in concert, plus the
King's College Choir in only their second visit this century. I'm a Shakespeare tragic so the Adelaide Festival's multi-media
ROMAN TRAGEDIES is on my list. Then there's the
International Guitar Festival in July,
Paul Capsis for the Cabaret Festival and.... Hmmm, time to do less Weekend Notes writing and get myself a real job perhaps

The fabulous Paul Capsis performs Little Bird as part of the 2014 Cabaret Festival
