Planning a new fitness regime, organising a catch up with friends or keen to attend some events in Adelaide but are hesitant because of the little one? Well, don't worry about booking a sitter anytime soon and bring the baby along instead. Who says mums are home bound or socially deprived? A variety of organisations cater for mums and bubs and encourage parents to head out and meet like-minded people, whilst introducing your baby to the beauty of the world from a young age.

An extensive selection of fitness classes are suited to mums and bubs, including yoga, aerobics, pilates and more. Back in Motion Physiotherapy offer a mums and bubs class that's specifically designed for the needs of you and your baby. Whether you're wanting to increase your fitness, strength and stability, lose weight or simply tone up, these classes can assist you with your fitness goals. Similarly, interact with other mums and their babies also. Back in Motion are located in diverse areas around Adelaide, making it convenient for mums to travel. You can view the locations here.

Similarly, Sporty Mums is another great fitness program that incorporates an outdoors fitness regime on the beach. The course consists of a warm up walk or run, as well as an outdoor circuit; babies may stay in their prams, or bring a blanket for them to lay on the sand and play with their toys. Either way embrace the fresh air, create a healthy body and mind, and build relationships with other mums and their babies. According to research, active mums encourage energetic toddlers. Visit their website for more information regarding pricing, locations and to learn more about this successful business.

Fitness classes aren't the only outings tailored for mums and bubs. Event Cinemas host a regular Bring Your Baby movie event, that is especially reserved for mothers and their babies. The cinema space is lightly lit, so you can enjoy the film whilst keeping an eye on the little one simultaneously. You can also purchase a 5 session multi-pass for $40. Each multi-pass has 5 admissions to use at Event Cinemas. Refer to their website for further details and session times.

Additionally, Wallis Cinemas hosts Bring-a-Bub; another baby friendly cinema event at Mitcham, Piccadilly, Mt Barker, and Noarlunga. Visit their website for more information. For those located a little closer to the CBD, Babes in Arms at Palace Nova is held every Thursday at 11 am. Tickets are only $10, and children under 3 are free.

Alternatively, if you're a business owner, have just had a baby and are wanting to get back into the workforce, or begin a new venture by opening a business you've always dreamed of, the AusMumpreneur May Lunch is an event not to miss. Meet like-minded mums, network, learn more about juggling a business and family, as well as meeting a successful guest speaker; it's possible to have it all, with guidance and support. This event will be held at The Rising Sun, 60 Bridge St, Kensington, 5068, on May 12, 11.30am - 1.30pm. It's free to register your interest online at Eventbrite.

If you're located in the eastern suburbs of Adelaide, the Burnside Library hosts three events for children, babies and toddlers throughout the year. Including Baby Chat for 0-2 Year Olds, Story Time for Preschoolers, and Bedtime Story Time, all held in the Burnside Library and free of charge. Get out of the house for a couple of hours, and socialize and mingle with other parents while the kids play. New mums, dads and bubs are welcome. You can view a detailed schedule of dates here , or visit the Burnside Council website for a variety of other information.

It's unfortunate that society tends to exclude mothers and babies from many social events, which can be difficult for mums to regain their independence, social life, or self-confidence after having a baby. However, it's a great to see an array of fitness programs or groups available that assist and support new mums through their journey.
