Celebrate. Remember. Fight Back. Join the Relay For Life movement.
Relay For Life takes place in over 27 countries around the world, including Australia. It is the largest event of its kind and the upcoming Adelaide Central event will raise much-needed funds for Cancer Council SA's life-changing prevention, research, advocacy and support programs.
The 2018 Adelaide Central event raised over $150,000 to support South Australians impacted by cancer, taking the Adelaide Central Relay For Life fundraising total to an impressive $4 million over the past 18 years.
Held over 19 hours, Relay For Life is filled with colour and movement, bright costumes, banners, decorated campsites, entertainment and activities across a jam-packed weekend. All are welcome to join in, celebrate, remember and fight back against cancer.
Teams of friends, families and colleagues raise money in the lead up to the overnight event, where team members take turns walking around a track to signify that cancer never rests, so neither do we.
Each Relay event has three special milestones that make it unique;
Underpinned by research, 61,000 Australian lives have been saved by improvements in cancer prevention, screening and treatment over the past 20 years. But, with an estimated 134,000 new cases of cancer expected to be diagnosed in Australia this year, we need every Australian to rally behind Relay For Life to help continue this vital work.
The event is an amazing example of hope in action - join the Relay For Life movement today.
If you are based in Adelaide, then we'd love to see you at the upcoming Adelaide Central Relay For Life, held from 2pm on Saturday 23 February to 9am on Sunday 24 February at the Adelaide Showgrounds.
