Curious, adventurous, and solemnly swearing that he is up to no good.
Your career journey starts here
Held annually, the Careers & Employment Expo is making a return to this side of Australia. Various organisations and companies will converge under one roof, with each of them providing a diverse range of services and information, preparing and laying foundations for the current Australian workforce and beyond.
From job offers, prospective career pathways, and further education opportunities, locals from all walks of life: university leavers, professionals, mature workers, and hopefully international students such as yours truly, might just find the right organisation, the right job, the right pathway to forge successful and satisfying careers.
Set in a friendly and informal setting, the stage is nicely set for prospective employers, career advisers, and education and training providers to disseminate, promote and perhaps showcase what they have to offer.
As for the visitors, prospective employees and students have the perfect opportunity to explore career pathways and lay the foundations for their careers by reaching out and making themselves noticed by prospective employers.
Along with the various organisations' information booths, a host of career seminars, along with employment and training activities, enrich the visitors and students' experience at the expo.
The major exhibitors for this edition of the expo include the Government of South Australia, SA Health, South Australian Police, FRESH FM, TAFE SA, Flinders, and the Department of Further Education, Employment, Science and Technology. A friendly reminder for interested exhibitors though, spaces are running out pretty fast!
Even before then, you can actually get a head start in creating a pathway for your career. Head into the website and register as a visitor. There, you can provide information about your current study/employment details, as well as career aspirations. After the expo concludes, the relevant organisations will receive this information, maintaining your connections when you need them.
Choosing the right career is a crucial step to getting a good job, which actually leads to a higher quality of life. For the driven, the confused, the uninitiated, or even the lost ones, this expo isn't a bad place altogether to start. Besides, entrance is free!
