Take a break from the hustle and bustle of Rundle Mall, in Adelaide, and step back in time as you enter
Adelaide Arcade.
Adelaide Arcade is an elegant building that has stood the test of time. It opened in 1885 and has seen many retailers and vendors in the building.
Located in the stairwell between the ground floor and balcony level of Gay's Arcade is the free
Adelaide Arcade Museum. It is small but extremely interesting as it has an eclectic mix of items from over the years. There are newspaper clippings, vintage clothing, photographs that give an insight into yesteryear. I doubt many people would know that the
Adelaide Arcade has its own polka. You can listen to the polka on a piano accordion that plays the official Adelaide Arcade Polka.
The
Adelaide Arcade Museum is a place you can pop in and out of when you are in Adelaide's CBD.
