I always look forward to the Clipsal. I get a four day pass every year and it's defiantly a long, tiring but fantastic four days if you're into cars. This year, it will be known as the Adelaide 500 and there will be plenty to see.
Some of the on-track action includes the Dunlop Series, Touring Car Masters, Audi R8 Cup, Super Utes and my favourites, the Stadium Super Trucks. These trucks are 650 horsepower, jumping over ramps. It is a fan favourite, filling the stands whenever they are on track and of course, you can't miss the V8 Virgin Australia Supercars, who will be racing on Saturday and Sunday.
After the track action has finished, the crowds can head over to the oval for the after-race concerts. The concerts this year, include some fabulous artists who will take to the stage and defiantly bring in the crowds:
Friday- Cold Chisel, Kasey chambers and Bad//Dreems
Things to remember- Wear comfortable shoes- the track is big and if you want to have a look around, there's a lot of walking and the walkways are full of dirt, so you will probably end up with black feet if you are wearing thongs. Bring a bottle of water- the Adelaide 500 is in March and it gets hot, so make sure you stay hydrated.
Slip slop slap- wear a t-shirt and bring some sunscreen as it's easy to get burnt being out in the sun all day. Food and drinks- Plenty of food and drink stalls around and bars for a beer. You can also bring a packed lunch and save some money because food and drinks can be expensive. Bring some money- the ATMs charge unreasonable amounts, so bring cash if you can.
Bag checks- You cannot bring in glass bottles and obviously alcohol, so don't pack these items.
- There is free public transport for anyone with an Adelaide 500 ticket.
Relax with a beverage in the various bars around the track
Tickets are on Sale now form the Adelaide 500 website.
You can purchase a four-day pass or a single day ticket in any of the eight grandstand reserved seating areas or a general admission ticket, which allows you to view on track action from various locations around the track and access to after-race concerts. Children under 14 receive free general admission entry with a paying adult.
