Adelaide 36ers Season 2017/18
Jump, run, dribble, throw, score, cheer and celebrate. Yes, i'ts that time again when Adelaide's own 36ers grace the Arena with their presence and put on a basketball show that provides a full night of entertainment for the whole family.
2016/17 was a great year with the 36ers finishing minor premiers, but ended in disappointment with the team unable to progress beyond the semi-final during the finals series. Determined to address that disappointment, coach Joey Wright has been active in the off-season and has recruited a number of imports who will mentor and inspire the younger members of the team, while also entertaining the crowd on the path to redemption.
Leading the imports is Ramone Moore, a shooting guard with experience throughout Europe and most recently with Melbourne United. Joining him will be Ronald Roberts, a 203cm giant forward, and point guard Shannon Shorter who comes with a reputation of closing out games with some of the best end-of-time plays.
The imports will be ably supported by Mitch Creek, Nathan Sobey, Matthew Hodgson, Majok Deng, Anthony Drmic, Brendan Teys and long term player Daniel Johnson, all of whom have had an excellent off season with their local clubs and a solid pre-season with the 36ers.
The Adelaide 36ers play 14 games at home this season, with the complete 2017/18 schedule as follows :
