Addiction serve a mix of Asian cuisines; there are a large number of main dishes, noodles, and yum cha at lunch. I've heard Addiction Cafe and Asian Restaurant cop a fair amount of criticism over the years, which I personally do not agree with. In my opinion they serve a wide range tasty food at reasonable prices. All my experiences there have been very positive, and there have been many.
I've never had the yum cha before, but I've tried almost every other option. My favourite meal would have to be the 'noodle bar', which allows you to choose the type of noodles you want, the sauce and the meat (or lack thereof). Vegetables are automatically included and there are both soups and 'dry' noodles available. I've also been there in a large group when we've ordered a variety of dishes and shared everything. The salt and pepper squid is always a winner.
I went again just a couple of weeks ago. When my friend and I arrived we discovered that on Wednesday nights they have a special deal; all main meals half price. I chose to have my old faithful, the noodle bar. Every time, without fail, I go for the vermicelli (thin rice noodles), oyster sauce and chicken. My meal was delicious, and the fact that it was half price made it all the more enjoyable. In the end it only cost us around $9 each.
There are two Addiction restaurants, one at Garden City (right next to the movies) and one in the the Hyperdome Shopping Centre Piazza. I am uncertain as to whether the Wednesday special applies at the Hyperdome location as well. Not only are all main dishes half price on Wednesdays, but there are deals almost every night of the week so be sure to consider them next time you're looking for a cheap night out.
