Yeah, I know. Valentine's Day is roses. Or messages scrunched inside fortune cookies. Ensuring that special someone knows they're special (in a good way). Yeah, yeah, know all that. However, IMO, also about celebrating - whether that's showing appreciation or wooing an office colleague. Hence, given the joy of music, definitely has a place on Valentine's Day.

Here's 25 tunes that'll put a smile on your dial. Commencing with bold, bright retro. All the way to mod' 2016. Whilst all Valentine's-worthy, each artist offers something distinct. Thus, I've specified that special feeling/quality each pairing (hopefully) evokes. You can either peruse my article, or bypass straight to the playlist (provided at the bottom). Either way, grab your partner/date/nonplussed coworker, shove on dancing shoes, and amp up your speakers (in no particular order).

Go on, take a listen. And # let me take you to a place I know you wanna go # (will make sense if you listen to 1st 20 sec of 1st track).

ARTIST/GROUP: Inner City

TRACKS INCLUDED: Good life (1989), Big Fun (1989)

WHY: Instant gratification.

While 80's techno is sometimes scoffed at (for good reason), some of it's endured. Inner City, with their upbeat beats, an example. These two once-popular dance tracks, also subsequently remixed, proving themselves timeless.

ARTIST/GROUP: K-Klass

TRACKS INCLUDED: Don't Stop (1993), Let Me Show You (1993)

WHY: Verve

K-Klass, like their counterpart above, still compose today. Though less busy, they once exhilarated with audacious hits. That includes these gems. Deep, flavoursome beats, they'll have you stomping along.

ARTIST/GROUP: Baby D

TRACKS INCLUDED: Let Me Be Your Fantasy (1996), So Pure (1996)

WHY: Daring

Thumping beats, easy-to-follow lyrics, Baby D were giants. Though still danceable, their tunes admittedly more ephemeral. Nevertheless, these rave-oriented beats'll have you shamelessly shaking your rump ie. twerking like Miley.

ARTIST/GROUP: StoneBridge

TRACKS INCLUDED: Put 'em High (2004), You Don't Know (2007)

WHY: Zest

The DJ behind StoneBridge, Sten Hallström, is a whiz. Hailing from Sweden, he's also vaguely associated with Robin S (who I tried to cram into this list). Mesmerizing melodies, luscious lyrics, he'll delight your eardrums as he works his synths.

ARTIST/GROUP: Ne-Yo

TRACKS INCLUDED: When You're Mad (2006), Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love Yourself) (2012)

WHY: Tenderness

Natural flair, musical family, only matter of time before this prodigy rose. Determined, talented musician, he's also written for Rihanna and Beyonce. Modern day Romeo, Ne-Yo'll infuse the room with romance.

ARTIST/GROUP: Chris Malinchak

TRACKS INCLUDED: Stranger (2009), If U Got It (2012)

WHY: Passion

Chris Malinchak. Underrated, unappreciated, feel sorry for this dude. This multi-talented guru's self-produced several tunes. Plus been endorsed by the likes of Adele and Annie Mac. 'U Got It', climbing to 23 on the UK charts.

ARTIST/GROUP: Nicky Romero

TRACKS INCLUDED: I Could Be The One (2013), Harmony (2015)

WHY: Gusto

Nicky Romero's ranked 18 on DJ Magazine's annual Top 100 DJ's poll. He's worked alongside/been supported by renowned DJ's: David Guetta, Avicii, Calvin Harris, Armand Van Helden, to name a few. Nicky Romero's ability to capture/express emotion, rapidly elevating him.

ARTIST/GROUP: Kiesza

TRACKS INCLUDED: Hideaway (2014), No Enemiesz (2014)

WHY: Pep.

Pocket rocket, once donning a sailor's hat, is truly awesome. If you wonder how she pulls off those dance moves, ex-ballerina. Conversely, if you're wondering about that bright red hair (perhaps just me then), Scottish heritage.

ARTIST/GROUP: Duke Dumont

TRACKS INCLUDED: The Giver (2014), I Got U (2014)

WHY: Vibrancy

This chart-topping, multiple Grammy nominated DJ made a name for himself composing & mixing. Clip for 'I Got U', even honored by fans of Sigala's (admittedly groovalicious) Sweet Lovin' .

ARTIST/GROUP: Jess Glynne

TRACKS INCLUDED: Real Love (2014), My Love (support vocals) (2015)

WHY: Effervescence

Famed support/lead vocalist, Jess hit the scene in 2013. In 2015, becoming the 2nd British female soloist to own 5 chart-topping singles in the UK. These two platinum-selling tracks, showcasing her magically powerful voice.

ARTIST/GROUP: Zedd

TRACKS INCLUDED: I Want You To Know (2015), Beautiful Now (2015)

WHY: Devotion

Household name, Zedd is a powerhouse. Whilst originally part of a deathcore band, he's since migrated. Upon gaining recognition, embarking on a collaboration rampage. Partnering with the likes of Ariana Grande and Hayley Williams from Paramore. Plus producing innumerable remixes.

Couldn't go past this one, so this pairing becomes a trio...

ARTIST/GROUP: Galantis

TRACKS INCLUDED: In My Head (2015), Runaway (U & I) (2015), Firebird (2015)

WHY: Fun

These cats will have you dancing on the ceiling. Galantis have taken the world by storm. And as long as they keep pumping out kick-butt tunes, we'll keep listening to them - despite their ailuromania/wacky obsession with cats.

Playlist of above songs (not monetized or anything). Enjoy.
