Kick start every day of the school holidays for free
If you are looking for a great way to kick start the day during the school holidays, you could do a lot worse than looking up the Active Kids program in the Moreton Bay Region this holidays. This program has been running for some time so if you are reading this and the July school holidays are a fading memory, but September is just around the corner then check the website for updates.

Active Kids

So let's get to the basics.

Why is it being run?
It's designed to introduce children to new sports and skills in their local parks. This is a great twofer as the kids get an intro to some new activities and get to visit some new parks, some of which have awesome play equipment.

Who is it for?
It's open to all kids from 3-12 years old but in the past older kids who are interested have 'helped out' younger siblings, so they shouldn't be excluded if they come along. If you only have teenagers or are looking for something for them too, see my article about the SHAFT program running at the same time.

When is it on?
Times do change but for the 2014 July School holidays its running from June 30 to July 11 from 9-10am weekdays.

Where is it happening?
The easy answer if you live in the Moreton Bay region is 'coming to a park near you', but the more detailed answer can be found on the website. There are about 15 venues across the region and they will be alternating so it won't be in your nearby park every week, but from past history some of these are well worth a little travel and you get to visit and explore a new park. Since you'll also find yourself in a new area it's well worth a bit of time exploring afterwards as well.

What can my kids do?
Holiday activities include Bounce Tennis, Self Defence (non contact), Funworks Adventure Games, Soccer, Launchpad Gymnastics, Kidzone (kids fitness fun), NRL League Clinics and mixed ballsports.

Who is running them?
All activities are delivered by experienced and qualified staff from organisations such as NRL Development, Gymnastics QLD, Football QLD, Bounce Tennis Academy and Tom's Law Fitness.

And now for the most important Question.

How much and how do I book?
No bookings are required and every session is totally FREE. So there is no pressure on the back pocket or that nagging pressure when you book and just can't make it.
