Are kids driving you crazy? Free activities to amuse them
Looking for a budget friendly way to amuse the children over the school holidays. Look no further than Moreton Shire Council's Active Kids Park Sessions.
Running from Tuesday 29 March through to Friday 8 April 2016 the sessions are all free and designed to keep kids fit and active. Plus, they're sure to make use of that pent up energy robust school age children invariably have on the day that parents are most exhausted.
Covering all things from ball games to sports to fun fitness like yoga and aerobics, these sessions are for kids from 3 to 12 years old.
Parents don't need to make a booking, just look up the schedule, decide which activity you'd like to take you child or children along to and come on down. Parents sign a participant form for the child when they arrive. Parents must remain as the responsible carer during the activity, but there's nothing to say you can't have a relaxing takeaway coffee on the sidelines while the kids have a blast with other children their ages.
This initiative has been running for a few years now and is very popular. It promotes socialising with peers, physical activity, outdoor play and prevents school holiday boredom.
Check here for the schedule of events running across most suburbs in the shire. Event schedules go up a few weeks before the holidays start. What a great free way to keep the kids happy.
If it's raining, activities may be cancelled so check the Moreton Bay Council website or facebook page on the day if poor weather is around.
