The Maroondah City Council are really topping the charts with events for the whole family. First off the ranks is the Active Kids, Healthy Minds event on Wednesday 25 September 2024 from 12-3pm at Town Park (10 min walk from Croydon Train Station), Croydon Little Athletic Centre, Norton Road, Croydon. See the website for complete details. It's going to be a fun-filled family day that'll also improve health and wellbeing with physical activity that improves body and brain health and builds resilience. Enjoy a free outdoor multi-station activity event during the school holidays, and help build active families in Maroondah. Enjoy activities like AFL; Basketball; Cricket; Football; Giant Games; Golf; Gymnastics; Hockey; Martial Arts; Tennis; Ultimate Frisbee; Volleyball; Geckko Sports Obstacle Course; and more. Registrations are essential, so book now ! Everyone is welcome, but events are aimed at pre-school and primary school-aged children. Parents/carers are required to stay with their child for the whole event.

Another active event, Growing Wellbeing Activity Day will be held at Ringwood Town Square, 179 Maroondah Hwy, Ringwood on Wednesday 2 October 2024 from 10am to 1pm. This event is in recognition of World Mental Health Month. This is just one of the ways that the Council is raising awareness about the importance of positive mental health and wellbeing for community members of all ages and backgrounds. Come along and experience ways to look after your mental health and wellbeing while discovering tips for supporting your family and friends to thrive too. There will be a range of organisations in attendance so you can also learn about some of the local mental health and wellbeing support services and programs available to you. There are fun activities galore too, for all ages; active kids and art therapy activities; get active around the library challenge; sound and light show in ArtSpace at Realm; and positive ageing activities and information, and more. In the future not so far away, here's a heads-up that the free Maroondah Festival is on its way on Sunday 10 November 2024 from 10am to 4pm at Town Park, Croydon Little Athletic Centre, 20 Civic Square, Croydon. In the interest of public safety, the Maroondah Festival is an alcohol, smoke and dog free event. If you'd like to get involved as a vendor, community group or performer, see here .
