Are you ready for action?
In the US, the beginning of summer is associated with the long-awaited releases of action-packed thriller movies. Thankfully, this coincides with our winter season to take away the winter blues. Some of the movies coming soon are also available in IMAX 3D. Please check the IMAX Melbourne website for session times.
The all time favourite action packed, heart-thumping movie, a franchise mania resulting in the 6th sequel of Fast and Furious is now coming to IMAX in crystal clear images. Vin Diesel and the crew are re-united once again to save the day, but not before they have managed to destroy a few very expensive cars along with the collateral damage. The movie will be shown at IMAX starting 6 June for two weeks only.
Running time is 130 minutes and it is rated M for violence and language.
Will Smith is a man of many talents. This is the first movie starring the father - son pair since the Pursuit of Happyness (2006), and the first movie starring Will Smith in 2013. A Sci-Fi written and co-produced by Will Smith also, the movie depicts Earth a thousand years after it has been abandoned by the human race due to cataclysmic events. The director of the movie is M. Night Shyamalan, who has several box-office hits to his credit (The Village, The Sixth Sense, etc.). The movie promises to be full of action and computer graphics not to be missed, and will be playing at IMAX Melbourne starting 13 June for one week only.
Running time is 100 minutes, and the movie is rated M.
Computer Graphics can do many things, one of which is to enable the viewer of the movie to be transported into another time and age. In this movie, the era is the Ice Age, and the stars are saber-toothed tigers, woolly mammoths - dreaded by the pre-historic humans. For an other-worldly experience, this is a must see, starting 20 June.
Running time is 45 minutes and the documovie is rated PG.

The most recognizable of all superheroes? The answer to this question is debatable, as there is a strong following of the man in black, Batman. However, this movie season will see the release of the most anticipated action-thriller, where Superman will be played by the very handsome British actor Henry Cavill. Russell Crowe will also be briefly seen as father of Superman. The IMAX version will be played starting 27 June. Please check ratings.
Running time is a staggering 143 minutes.
