Drama With A Difference is one of Australia's leading independent drama schools. With a history that spans more than twenty years, it is the launching pad of many successful actors.
We have two drama courses that are starting in October; one is of a purely fun and recreational nature, while the other is for those who are interested in really learning about the craft of acting in a more serious environment.
The recreational class is ideal for those who may wish to explore their creativity, improve self-esteem and confidence, engage in an activity with like-minded people, or simply have fun! There is no pressure to perform at any particular level, and the focus is on personal best. The class is held in a very nurturing, safe environment and no prior experience is required. The class is attended by people of all ages and from a wide demographic, all of whom get along extremely well and are very welcoming of newcomers.
The recreational course is held on Thursday nights in Kew and begins on Thursday October 12 for two hours from 7.30pm - 9.30pm. It runs weekly until Thursday 21 December.

ADVANCED ACTING TECHNIQUE COURSE
This course is open to those with and without experience. It is suitable for aspiring actors, but also to anyone who is interested in probing the art and craft of acting. Students will learn the specifics of the Stanislavsky Acting Technique - the original source of what has now become known as "the method".
Participants will engage in exercises that are undertaken by professional actors and taught at professional drama schools. As the course progresses, these techniques will begin to be applied to scripts and students will be given scene partners to work with.
While the course is taught in a highly supportive environment, students will nevertheless be encouraged to go beyond their usual limits and challenged to make brave choices during class time. The intention is to give each participant a taste of what it is that professional actors undertake when they work, and to give an experience of the full benefits of really applying a given acting technique in the fullest possible manner.
Therefore, the course is more challenging than the purely recreational course, however it is also open to those with and without experience. Many students who attend this course are aspiring actors, while others simply wish to learn the dynamic aspects of an actor's craft out of curiosity and for purposes of self-development.
This course starts on Monday October 16 and runs weekly until Monday 18 December. It is a two-hour course from 7.30pm - 9.30pm and takes place at Clifton Hill.
