As part of Harmony Week celebrations this year Perth City will be hosting the Act-Belong-Commit Multicultural Music Festival in Forrest Place on the 18th of March 2017 from 11am to 5pm. Harmony Week is a State Government initiative that the Office of Multicultural Interests runs every year from the 15th to the 21st of March. It is a fun opportunity for West Australians to learn all about the benefits of cultural diversity and to explore our cultural, linguistic, religious and ethnic differences. Harmony Week coincides with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination on the 21st of March.
The Act-Belong-Commit Multicultural Music Festival is a free event that promotes respect and tolerance and inclusiveness for all West Australians through the Act-Belong-Commit campaign. The Act-Belong-Commit campaign promotes the importance of mental health through being active, having a sense of belonging and finding a purpose in life.
The music festival is being organised by So Change Inc. in collaboration with Jhoom Dance Crew and with support from the Office of Multicultural Interests and Healthway. The event organisers are looking to find a diverse range of acts to perform at the festival. There are no restrictions on age, gender, or ability. This is an inclusive event so people from all cultures are encouraged to get involved. If you are interested in performing please contact Sunita on 0457 782704 or email her at email@example.com.
