This is facilitated by close collaboration with local and international artists and arts companies within circus, fashion, visual art, multimedia, photography, theatre, dance and puppetry to enrich aspects of both training and performance.
This year, Kinetica was sponsored by Act-Belong-Commit and Healthway to deliver an exciting program of community-based youth circus classes.
These classes allow young people (between 5yrs - 17yrs) to learn circus skills and work towards circus performance opportunities in a fun and safe learning environment.
There are 4 courses to choose from; each running for 8 weeks.
"Act-Belong-Commit" Mini Cirque
This course focuses on childhood development of gross and fine motor skills, coordination and strength with an emphasis on fun and play. Ideal for 5-8 year olds.
"Act-Belong-Commit" Junior Cirque
A fun introduction to circus skills. Learn trapeze, aerial hoop, tumbling, balancing, handstands and more. Suitable for beginners, this course is also fantastic for developing kids confidence, strength, co-ordination and gross motor skills. Ideal for 8-12 years.
"Act-Belong-Commit" Teen Cirque
A circus class designed just for teens, where they will learn amazing aerial and ground circus acts. Circus is also a full body workout that builds your strength, fitness and flexibility while you have fun. Ideal for 13-16 years.
"Act-Belong-Commit" Serious Circus
This class is designed for young people who have undertaken previous circus, dance or gymnastics training and would like to extend their circus performance skills. Trainees will learn more advanced skills and work towards developing a routine in a chosen area. Ideal for 11 years & over.
