On the 26th of October, Arahi Events will stage an avant-garde cultural performance, "Acoustic Aotearoa," in The Paradise Showroom, at The Arts Centre Gold Coast.

The event will feature Maori singer/ songwriter Maisey Rika, with supporting acts: Katz Maihi and Sharp Minds. Maisey is regarded as New Zealand's manu tioriori (song bird) -
"Maisey has a sweet beckoning voice, singing in both her native Te Reo Māori and English, her sounds and lyrics inspire the wairua (spirit) of our people. We are so blessed that she is to grace our show with her awesome talents." (organiser: Joy Vercoe, of Arahi Events.)

Arahi Event's vision is to provide the Gold Coast Community with family orientated events of integrated media pacific arts, such as music, dancing, plays, short films and gallery exhibitions.

The program on the 26th will begin with a welcoming ceremony for the New Zealand Maori visitors, from the indigenous Gold Coast People of the Land - the Bundjalung, Kombumerri nation. Kiwi ex pats will enjoy this "hono-ki-te-kainga, (link to the home ground). Gold Coast families can take the opportunity to enjoy a taste of Maori culture in their own back yard.

The show on Fri 26 October 2012 costs $29.90 for adults and $26.90 for kids. There is another show on Thurs 25 October which is in The Basement (a licensed venue so not for kids), at a different price, but tickets are sold out.

Concert was excellent tonight. Well done Joy. Variety and line up was great. Maisy has the most incredible voice.
