Budding film makers age 9 to 12 years can head over to ACMI for a 3-day workshop on the art and science of movie making. It is focused on helping kids learn the basics of writing, directing, acting in and editing a short film. In a small group, participants will create a name for their 'movie studio', write a script, storyboard, pitch their ideas, act, direct and operate a camera.
Under the guidance of professionals, kids will enjoy filming on location around Federation Square and in a television studio. The film is edited, music and special effects are added and premiered on the last day of the workshop to participants and 2 of their invited guests. Participants also get to take the finished film home in a USB flash drive. Member discounts are available.
