The Stirling Players proudly present Accidental Death of an Anarchist - Italian playwright and Nobel Prize-winner Dario Fo's most acclaimed and famous play, having been staged across the world since its premiere in Milan in 1970.

Directed by Lesley Reed, Accidental Death of an Anarchist will play for a strictly limited season at Stirling Community Theatre from 8-23 September 2023. Tickets are now on sale.



Based on a true story, suspicion bubbles after the death of a notorious anarchist in Milan. According to police evidence, while under interrogation, the young man 'accidentally' fell from a fourth-floor window at police headquarters.

While awaiting an investigating judge's arrival, police are interrogating a 'maniac' who has been arrested for impersonation. Far more quick-witted than the police, the maniac impersonates the expected judge... and truth erupts amongst the hilarious chaos.



Accidental Death of an Anarchist is a biting satire about justice, power, and corruption. Featuring an all-female cast, the production stays true to the absurdity and wit of Fo's script in this hilarious English-language adaptation.
