A fine dining experience at the Acacia Henley Beach
On a sunny afternoon, there is nothing more relaxing & therapeutic than walking on the beach barefoot, soaking up the sun and listening to the gentle waves. To add a bit more finesse to this, you can't miss Acacia Henley Beach for an indulgent experience. We dined at this restaurant last weekend and their food was more than amazing.
Acacia looks like your neighbourhood cafe and serves you a great cuppa for sure. When we arrived, most people were already having their brunch and coffee. We were the first group to arrive for lunch. The lunch menu was simple & straightforward with 3 snacks, 3 starters, 5 mains, 3 sides & 1 dessert. However, the ingredients & combination of flavours presented were already impressive. It took us a while to decide what to try. Reading the menu & discussing which dishes to share is one of the most exciting moments for food lovers like us, especially when there are some ingredients that we have never tried or heard of. We are the adventurous kind in terms of food. I can't wait to share with you our weekend indulgence in the food heaven.
Starter - SA Prawn & Wild Fennel Dumpling
First up, it looks amazing. This dish is served with soured tomato butter sauce and oh, it's delicious. I never thought tomato would go so well with butter but I was wrong. It's yum.
This is a must-have starter. Apart from the super high-end Hentley Farm Degustation in the Barossa Valley, I have never seen cured egg yolk served in any restaurant in Adelaide. The cured egg yolk tasted like butter, but is even more addictive. It's fragrant, it has depth and it's luxurious. This starter costs you $18 but it's worth every dollar.
Starter - Tuna Carpaccio. The yellow bits are the cured egg yolk shavings. I'm salivating already!
We didn't know what to expect when we saw the fine print mentioning bee pollen, puffed pork skin and whipped feta. It turned out to be more than a feast on the eye; those vibrant colours. The pulled pork flavour really stands out. The more-than-unusual ingredients work perfectly together.
We always order beef cheek when we see it on the menu. We love the tenderness in the cut and also how lean it is. Among all the dishes we tried, this is the most fusion dish on the table. The chef uses the spices in traditional Vietnamese beef noodles soup to flavour this main. It's familiar in taste but also a new experience to have it in this twisted way. It's such an Australian dish that represents how multicultural we are.
Main - Beef Cheek. Flavoured in the Vietnamese way. Love it!
I love every dish put on our table. These amazing dishes are the reasons we go out dining. It makes you want to come back for more & try new food. Acacia Henley Beach is a true discovery of luxurious taste right at home, by the beach. How good is that?
This restaurant is also a serious coffee business. Check out their Coffee Menu. Does it sound more sophisticated than their food menu? If you want something to take home, buy the specialty coffee roasted beans. They sell like hotcakes. We finished our meals with a good cuppa and a stroll on the beach to end our perfect weekend. What are you waiting for? Book a table now.
