Fathers play an important role in the lives of their children. But you won't realise just how important until you see the movie ABSENT.
ABSENT The Movie
ABSENT is a documentary, made by award-winning journalist and director Justin Hunt. The movie has won six international awards at film festivals in Spain, Germany, England and the USA. This is Justin's second film and it reveals the impact of disengaged fathers on the lives of their children.
In this documentary Justin interviews a variety of people such as prostitutes, high school students, a Christian author, a model and a boxing champion. But probably the most surprising interview is that with James Hetfield from the heavy metal band Metallica, who speaks openly about the absence of his own father. Talking about James Hetfield's involvement with the movie, Rockville Music Magazine published an exclusive interview with the film's director Justin Hunt.

ABSENT shows how important a father's love, respect and acceptance is to young men and women in today's society. The movie is supported by social research and high impact facts and gives us compelling insights into how much children need their fathers to be present and engaged in their lives.
