All four lead actors compliment each other and seem to bounce off each others energy. Kevin Hart and Regina Hall make an excellent partnership playing the characters Bernie and Joan, their fun, frolics and constant arguments are hilarious to watch and often carry the film during certain monotonous scenes.
As Hollywood spews more and more remakes, it seems like it has become a rarity for a film to have such depth in quality, talent and originality. Even though About Last Night (2014) is itself a remake from the 1986 original, the film still carries a level of focus and aspiration, instead of wanton 'I'm just here for the money' directing.
Comedy films are highly popular and are becoming more and more frequent as the demand to laugh stays forever potent. Comedic talisman Steve Carell, Ben Stiller, Will Ferrell etc, have all found glory and fame in being true to their genre of comedy. I believe it's worth noting the efforts of one comic in particular, someone who is fast becoming the face of Hollywood's funnyman, Kevin Hart.
All the accolades and praises are certainly due to this man, an extremely hard worker, to the point that he seems to have all of his fingers in some sort of pie.
The worry is in spreading himself too thin, but it seems like there is a healthy appetite being practiced by his fans and audiences out there to lap up the comedians endeavours.
