Are you the man who finds family life challenging? Fusion Western Sydney is hosting "About Dads": A Fusion Families Conference. The conference focuses on fathers with seminars about raising happy children and understanding the worries faced by today's fathers. The conference looks to be one filled with humour and advice for accomplished fathers and L-plate dads.

The conference kicks off on Thursday 7 August with an opening night launch featuring former Wallabies captain Nick Farr-Jones. Nick will share his insights from life on the rugby field, in business and as a father and husband.

Nick Farr-Jones says that amongst the most successful and satisfying moments in life are the daily interactions with his wife and four children. This will be shortly followed by a seminar with Ian Grant. Using humour and practical advice, Ian Grant will teach you "How to be an Awesome Dad in 30 Minutes". Ian Grant is a well known author, educator and radio personality who has had years of experience working with families. The evening will be hosted by Hope 103.2FM's breakfast announcers Aaron and Dan so the night looks to be entertaining and informative.

The conference then continues on Friday 8 August with three seminars. Ian Grant returns to speak on 'How to Raise Great Kids and Enjoy it'. Author and father of six, Dr Justin Coulson and the founder of happyfamilies.com.au will follow on the topic 'What Your Child Needs From You'. Based on the book of the same name, Justin will share three essential keys to get to the heart of raising a happy child and creating a connected family. Cay Camden, social worker with over twenty-five years experience working in health and education will unpack the latest statistics and common worries dads have whether they are single, married or widowed. If you're a dad looking for advice, or wish to find out about the current status of dads in societies, then this conference will prove to be enlightening.

It is possible to attend the opening night without attending the conference. Tickets for opening night cost $15 per person with a discount for groups of 10 or more. If you wish to attend the Friday seminars, the cost is $100. There is no discount for attending both and these prices exclude any additional booking fees that may occur. Bookings can be done by visiting the Fusion Western Sydney Website . The conference is held at the Youth and Community Centre, 12 Carsons Lane St Marys, NSW. St Mary's can be reached by public transport (train and bus). For more information contact Elizabeth Monckton on (02) 8805 5900 or by Email: [email protected].
