If you are like many of us, including me, then you may not have much experience with indigenous culture and heritage. Perhaps you are visiting from elsewhere and want to find out more about the indigenous people of Australia, and in this case the Cadigal people, the traditional owners of Sydney.
You can join the
, where you will learn about the fascinating and diverse history and culture of the Aboriginal people of Sydney. An Aboriginal guide will take you on an exploration of the Royal Botanic Gardens to learn about plant uses, cultural artefacts and tasting some bush foods. Join your Aboriginal tour guide to learn about the Cadigal people – the traditional owners of the Sydney city area. Depending on the season, you'll forage and eat Australian Bush Foods as you walk and talk.
The Sydney Royal Botanic Gardens lies in the middle of the city with the most magical views of the harbour surrounding it. Here you can now learn about the diverse history and culture of the Aboriginal people of the Sydney region with an Aboriginal guide.
You will uncover the rich Aboriginal heritage of the Gardens by exploring plant uses and learning about culture and artefacts. Depending on the season, you will be able to forage and eat some Australian Bushfoods, all explained by your guide
The Royal Botanic Gardens has just won bronze at the
Australian Tourism Awards as a Major Tourist Attraction, so that's another reason to go and visit this magnificent piece of nature in the middle of Sydney.
Walks take place every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10 – 11.30 am (excluding public holidays).
Price: $41 per person (children 7 years and under free). Walk-ups accepted on the day, paying by card only. We do not accept cash, cheques or American Express.
