Located on the Maribyrnong River, Aberfeldie Park is a vibrant and energetic place for everyone.
The park consists of a compounded dirt trail that has a figure 8 configuration with undulating terrain. With the track being softer than tarmac, it makes for a great running or walking surface that is kind to the joints and the hills can provide a challenge, regardless of your fitness levels.
There are also plenty of grassed areas for taking the dog off the leash and, for those who are so inclined; you can join the dog school run every Saturday at the park.
Aberfeldie Park is also home to Essendon Athletics which has its own 400m running track. With the track being open to public, it provides an alternative for the more serious athlete looking to go up against the clock with a known distance. The park has a strong fitness orientation with the Moonee Valley City Council providing some basic outdoor gym equipment that is really simple to use and provides that little bit extra for park users.
Aberfeldie Park is very accessible with the park being located along various bus routes and it is only a short walk from the 57 or 82 tram stop on Maribyrnong road.
If none of the exercise seems appealing, then the Boat House Café, Poyntons or the Anglers Tavern are in very close proximity to Aberfeldie Park for those who are looking to take a load off and relax.
