My daughter loves ABC Kids and whilst I don't like her to watch too much television, some of the shows which have a fun educational message like The Wiggles and Playschool, I am happy for her to watch. Although I'm still trying to work out the message for Bananas in Pyjamas.
The Wiggles are most definitely her favourite, so we have taken her to Wiggles World at Dreamworld a few times - she absolutely loves it there and has been on the Big Red Car, Dorothy's Teacups, the Big Red Boat and aboard the SS Feathersword. It's a great section of the theme-park with loads of wiggly fun - plus they have daily shows and character meetings with Dorothy The Dinosaur, Wags The Dog and Henry The Octopus. The joy on her face is priceless.
So I was really excited to find out about ABC Kids World coming to Dreamworld soon - opening on 27 June 2015. At first I was worried Wiggles World would be changing, however it will actually be an extension of the Wiggles area to now include Giggle and Hoot, Play School and Bananas in Pyjamas. Australia's favourite kids shows will have their very own colourful and interactive fun areas including loads of new rides, activities, character shows and games.
It sounds excellent and if Wiggles World is anything to go by, it should bring so much delight to my daughter. I can't wait to take her.
So what is new? The Playschool area will feature a number of immersive and imaginative play areas, featuring themes from the show. Playschool is Australia's longest running pre-school series and for good reason - it is friendly, gentle, fun and educational.
Giggle and Hoot is super cute and my daughter loves them - kids will be able to play on the Giggle and Hoot Pirate Ship, try the new Giggle and Hoot Hop and Hoot ride plus they will even be able to meet Hoot and Hootabelle.
For fans of Bananas in Pyjamas they will love making their way through the Bananas in Pyjamas Fun Maze, and meeting characters from Cuddlestown, including the famous banana duo B1 and B2!
We bought annual passes for the family which gives us unlimited entry for 12 months, this includes special shows - it is $109.99 for adults and $89.99 for kids. With young kids it's a great investment, as we are still able to have a fun day out even when funds are low. Once you go back for the second time, you are already recouping the cost of the pass, so it's completely worth it. There is plenty to do, and by changing around which way you go and what shows you see, it can feel like a different experience - not that kids notice, they just love being there.
Open seven days a week from 10am till 5pm - it is about a 30 minute drive from Surfers Paradise. Located on Dreamworld Parkway in Coomera, it is easy to get to taking the Coomera exit of the M1 Pacific Motorway. Of course, week days - not including school holidays - are the quietest times to go. On a weekend the most we have waited in the kids area is about 30 minutes, which is not brilliant when you have kids - however the screens showing the wiggles kept her entertained.
I think my daughter would be happy to return time and time again just for the Wiggles area, but with these new areas opening soon with her other favourite shows, I may struggle to get her to leave.
