The time for contemplation is upon us
While, for the moment, the Abbotsford Convent is currently still in Covid-19 Lockdown Restrictions, however, it's still a worthy destination one can add to a To-Do list, once Lockdown Restrictions have been removed.
The Abbotsford Convent has a long and detailed history, and it's certainly worth checking out, however, the aspect of the convent that drew me the most was the grounds and architecture. The grounds are spacious and perfect for walking.
The architecture is amazing, the Abbotsford Convent Foundation has done a great job restoring the convent, and there's just so many intricate details carved into the stonemasonry of the buildings.
The grounds are lovely. Plenty of space for children or leashed pets to explore. It would be an ideal place for a picnic in the warmer seasons.
Located on the Abbotsford Convent is Lentil As Anything, it's a not-for-profit café with a long history of Food Security programs, such as Food Without Borders. The café has a mostly outside seating area, however, there is interior seating available. The staff were friendly and attentive while I was there.
