Whether you're an aspiring filmmaker, or accomplished in your craft and wish to connect with Australia's leading creatives, or simply enjoy watching great short films; AACTA Shorts & Web Fest is the 2 day Festival for you! Presented by MINI, this event runs from 30-31 August 2019 at The Factory Theatre, 105 Victoria Rd, Marrickville. Hosted by THE FEED's Jan Fran (journalist, writer, TV presenter, internet commentator), the Festival Program will feature screenings of the productions shortlisted to be nominated for the 2019 AACTA Awards for Best Short Film, Best Short Documentary, Best Short Animation and Best Online Video or Series.

This Festival also features masterclasses with world-class web and short form creators, Q&A Interviews and the inside story from industry leaders, Stand-Up Comedy, and opportunities to network and connect with Australia's biggest names in digital creation between sessions in the Festival Courtyard filled with food trucks, pop up bars and a live DJ. Fri 30 Aug has 2 sessions; 1 at 4pm and the 2nd from 6pm onwards. You'll need to RSVP to all sessions you wish to attend. If you wish to attend multiple sessions simply click RSVP on each page and complete your RSVP once all sessions have been added to your cart. The first session kicks off with a Masterclass in Web Series: Storytelling for the Internet. It's a deep diving session into the art of delivering a story line. It'll discuss everything from scripting and structure to production and release and how the stories can be brought to life online.

Session 2 on the same day kicks off at 6pm with Stand-Up Comedy with Becky Lucas, followed by Shorts & Web Fest Official Welcome by the Host Jan Fran. What follows is a mix of interviews with web series creators and screenings till 9.15pm when the After Party begins in the Festival Courtyard.

On the following day (Sat 31 Aug) you have Sessions 3, 4, and 5. Session 3 at 11am is a Masterclass In Short Film: From Beginning to Beyond, where Australia's award winning short filmmakers will take you through a step-by-step process of producing your short film and the opportunities that follows. Session 4 at 12.30 is The Perfect Pitch with AACTA Pitch Judges followed at 1pm by the AACTA Pitch: Elevate Live Final hosted by Gen Fricker. At this live final of AACTA Pitch: Elevate, you'll be privy to judges and other content commissioners in a conversation about mastering The Perfect Pitch.

The last Session 5 begins at 2.45pm and runs through to 8.30pm when the After Party begins in the Festival Courtyard. Filled with screenings of The Best in their category and shortlisted for the AACTA Award, enjoy Stand-Up Comedy with Bec Charlwood in between, nominees announcement and an interview with MINI Pitch winner, followed by the screening of the Behind the Scenes making of Our Great Escape. If you're a lover of films and all that it entails, don't miss this event. The best part, all sessions are FREE so get in early and don't miss out.
