To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Overland Telegraph, engineering historian Richard Venus and SA Heritage Council chair Keith Conlon will be hosting a tour through central Adelaide on Sunday the 15th of May 2022 at 11am. The tour will follow the footsteps of Charles Todd who contributed remarkably to South Australia's infrastructure project and reimagined communication with the world. As the superintendent of telegraphs, Charles was involved in planning and designing the revolutionary Overland Telegraph. You will pass heritage buildings associated with this venture and learn more about the visionary himself.
