Christmas shopping with a cultural twist
Having trouble finding the perfect gift for your dinosaur-mad six year old, your history buff husband or your design savvy best friend? Despair no more. Those interesting and eclectic shops at the Gallery Of Modern Art, Queensland Museum and the State Library of Queensland are getting together for Christmas and the result is A Very Cultural Christmas, a one night only opportunity for Christmas present hunting in an exclusive after-hours atmosphere.

[ADVERT]In the spirit of Christmas these shops will throw open their doors for some late night shopping of the cultural kind. This event is a shopping bonanza with a literary, artistic and historical twist. As well as the usual shop merchandise you'll find Christmas cards, books, baubles and paper. But that's not all. Shoppers will receive a 10% discount on all full-priced goods and there will be free gift-wrapping, special offers and lucky door prizes.
And after you've filled all your shopping bags with delightful goodies, you can sit down in comfort and relax with a cuppa and something to eat from either The State Library Cafe or GOMA Cafe Bistro, where they'll be staying open late just for the occasion.

The Museum Shop is recently refurbished and stocks a wide range of educational toys, jewellery, eco-friendly products and books, including the Museum's own publications. You can view their Christmas range here. Queensland Museum is located at the corner of Grey and Melbourne Streets. For this evening entry will be via the Whale Mall.
GOMA Gallery Store The GOMA Store stocks all manner of homewares, books (including their own publications), stationery and merchandise related to their exhibitions. You can view their merchandise here and books here. The shop is located at the Gallery, Stanley Place, South Bank
The Library Shop was voted Queensland Specialist Bookseller of the Year at the Australian Book Industry Book Industry Awards in both 2011 and 2012. They specialise in books about Queenslanders and by Queenslanders, but they have a full range of fiction and non-fiction books. They'll even try to find out-of-print books for you. The Library shop is at Level One, South Bank Building, State Library of Queensland, Stanley Place, South Bank.
