Barbie: A Very Berry Day is a fun, glamour board book, aimed at young girls, ages 3 and up, who are interested in makeup.
This book comes with two tubes of delicious scented sparkly lip-gloss, one Red Berry, the other, Wild Berry, which are completely safe and non-toxic.
This is the story of the day that Barbie cheers up her little sister Stacie, by taking her on a fun-filled trip to the local berry farm, where they pick baskets of plump, sweet strawberries and blackberries.
They take them home and Stacie bakes Barbie a delicious berry pie and Barbie gives Stacie her very first lip gloss.
This book teaches its readers the importance of looking after, loving and spending time with your siblings and is very well written by Rochelle Scott and is full of bright photography by great names such as Willy Lew, Shirley Ushirogata, Lawrence Cassel, Greg Roccia, Andrew Bode, Judy Tsuno and Lisa Collins.
The only negative I could find with this adorable "glamour book", is the fact that it comes with the lip glosses, as some parents may feel uncomfortable with their young children wearing it. Though it can be a very positive reward for your child to finish reading the book.
Reader's Digest Children's Books, in conjunction with Mattel, published this book in 2004.
