[SECTION]Overview[/SECTION]
Mindarie Marina has been a popular spot since it was officially opened in 1989, just ahead of the building boom in Perth's northern suburbs. With the relaxed seaside ambiance of the boardwalk, a microbrewery, pub and cafes it offers the perfect spot for the seventh annual A Toast to the Coast Food & Wine Festival. The festival promises to be a treat for all ages, with wine tasting, market stalls, cooking demonstrations, live bands and plenty of children's entertainment.

The Wine Tasting Tent will showcase top drops from Western Australia and beyond, with exhibitors offering tasting and sales from 11am to 4pm.

Food stalls will feature the best of local produce. Indulge yourself with some chocolate or cheese before settling down to watch The Cooking Professor create Moroccan delights.

Italian more your style? Mindarie Marina's executive chef will not only whip up some delicious examples but also explain how to make them gluten-free or diabetic friendly.

Finally if you've ever wondered what to serve on your yacht, Glen Whistler-Carr, whose company caters for private luxury boats, will give you some inspiration using fresh seafood and salads.

[SECTION]Markets and Entertainment[/SECTION]
More than thirty market stalls will offer arts and crafts and other boutique items. As you browse along the boardwalk, stop to watch the oyster shucking or the Hula Hoop Stilts Act. All ages are sure to enjoy the sea songs and shanties performed by the Purple Pirates Band.

For more music and maybe a bit of dancing, the Boat Ale House has Chris Murphy then local rocking/ rhythm and blues band Slim Jim and the Phatts, while the Indian Ocean Brewery is featuring Retrofit followed by Shawn and Luc.

[SECTION]Fun for the Youngsters[/SECTION]
There's plenty of family entertainment along the Boardwalk with the Purple Pirates, the Have-a-Go circus workshop and more. There's also a special Children's Zone with pony rides, a bouncy castle, face painting and sand craft activities.

Check the timetable for a visit by Fairy Queen Caroline and performances by Bella the Ballerina.
