There is always somewhere you can be and something to do.
A Picture Really Does Tell A Thousand Words
A fascinating journey into the history of a photo. We know that a picture tells a thousand words and that is the idea behind this on-line exhibition appropriately called "A Thousand Words". The exhibition is a collaboration between Sydney Living Museums and NSW State Archives. You don't need to be a history buff to be drawn to this exhibition but it is a fantastic way to learn about Australian history.
The photographs are taken from a bygone era, making them mysterious, especially when you do not know what they are about or when they were taken. There is no information about the photo, no title or description, just the black and white photo. This will evoke many things from the observer and it's interesting to note what words your conjure up and your own story about what you are seeing. You will connect with your emotions strongly because all you have is your own imagination.
