Your opportunity to learn and understand more about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and culture.The exhibition will be at Kuril Dhagun, Level 1, State Library, Stanley Place, South Bank.

A Thousand Words starts on Saturday 6 December, 2014 and is open every day until 17 May, 2015. The times are from 10:00am until 5:00pm.

Portraits by Indigenous artists Cheryl Creed and Nikeema Williams are featured in A Thousand Words. These talented artists have captured the personalities of their subjects from communities including Brisbane, Cherbourg, Woorabinda and Cairns, in fleeting moments of time.

In addition you will have the opportunity to view and explore installations and programmed spaces.A Thousand Words exhibition is free, and there is no need to book.



Associated with A Thousand Words, is A Thousand Footprints.
In A Thousand Footprints, Kuril Dhagun explores and showcases Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and history through displays and exhibitions every Tuesday from 2:00pm until 3:00pm during A Thousand Words exhibition.

As with A Thousand Words, A Thousand Footprints is also free, but it would be wise to book your space .







Along with A Thousand Words and A Thousand Footprints, there will be a monthly Saturday workshop called A Thousand Fibres.

A Thousand Fibres workshops are restricted to those over 15 years of age and there is a cost involved. Places are limited and bookings are essential. For bookings and further details go to the web site .
