An online escape room to escape lockdown for a little
A Temporal Tangle takes an escape room online so groups of friends can get together and enjoy the fun of figuring out how to get out while staying separate and safe at home.

Next Level Escape, which is running this online escape room experience, explains the scenario as follows: "The Future Directions Bureau sent their top agent (code name Fox) on a crucial mission in the 21st century to preserve the timeline. However, Agent Fox has now disappeared from the time stream. Enemy action is suspected – it's up to you to trace his whereabouts and save the future."

Watch the online trailer below to get more insight and a preview of the game to get excited about undertaking this experience.

Next Level Escape has created an immersive, true-to-life online version of a physical escape room. It is photo-realistic and players can pick up objects, use objects like torches to shine light, and examine key objects in 3D.

It differs from an original in-life escape room in that there is no time limit - you can take as long as you like to explore the space and consider the clues.

It costs AUD$15 to be registered for an Agent ID, which will be emailed to you. This code is for one device only, so if you want to play with friends remotely you'll each need your own Agent ID. This Agent ID is valid for six months after purchase.

Before purchase, you can play a short pre-game demo to get a feel for it and decide if you want to fork out the cash for it.

Next Level Escape suggests putting aside 1.5 hours for the full experience.

You can pay AUD$50 for a bonus voucher (Sydney only), which gets you an Agent ID for one device, as well as a bonus $50 credit towards any of Next Level Escape's physical games (Ex Libris, The Artefact, The Game) in Sydney Australia. The $50 credit will be valid for six months from purchase.

A Temporal Tangle has great reviews from those who've attempted this online escape room. Escape room bloggers, Lock Me If You Can said: "A Temporal Tangle Online did an incredible job in transposing the original game into the virtual space. It feels like you are playing an escape room – the puzzles, the decorated set, even the cameras and the locks are there."

Next Level Escape is a Sydney-based escape room, and it was a finalist in the Top Escape Rooms Project 2019, which involves enthusiasts nominating their favourite games worldwide. It created this online escape room game to allow people to continue playing and to come together for some fun while staying apart and staying safe during the COVID 19 pandemic.

Why not get a team together and spend an evening attempting to uncover the clues, crack the case, and unravel the mystery!

I must say an on-line escape room appeals to me a lot more than the real thing. People really do come up with some ingenious concepts.
