A Taste of Harmony - well, my work's done cos that fairly much sums it up. This movement's primary purpose, promote positive workplace practices. 28% of Australians born overseas, our workforce truly is a melting pot. With many workplaces across our nation, comprising a widening range of ethnicities and cultures. Public sector, private sector, all boast enhanced cultural diversity. Not only facilitating a pooling of perspectives, but positioning our economy for growth.

This annual event not only proposes embracing workplace diversity, but proactively leveraging this untapped human resource. Research confirming specifiable
benefits, ultimately in everyone's interest. Some of these outcomes, for instance: developing business networks, access to different markets, increased productivity, efficiency & innovation, capturing employee talent, even boosting the bottom line (ie. in the US, the top 50 companies for diversity significantly outperformed the S&P 500 and NASDAQ over a 10yr period).

Partaking entails
registering, then organizing a Taste of Harmony luncheon. A workplace-wide event, where staff share a plate and a story. Both of these, designed to represent their cultural background (or one they'd wish to explore/present), so as to cultivate deeper mutual appreciation. However, it doesn't have to be a formal sit-down. With a great assortment of alternative
options. Furthermore, with no fundraising involved, you can avoid those awkward collection rounds.
